Attorney Lymaris De Jesús Mir was born in the Puerto Rican diaspora in Illinois. Shortly after she was born her parents moved back to Puerto Rico where she spent her childhood, and the majority of her life until the aftermath of Hurricane Maria made her move to Texas in 2018. 

After years of practice in private immigration firms, De Jesús Mir founded De Jesús Mir Law Firm, PLLC in December 2022 in Houston, Texas. Her goal is to help immigrants to rebuild their lives in the USA. She knows personally the impact force displacement has on noncitizens and communities. 

The American Dream is about offering the opportunity to everyone to build wealth for their families and their businesses; with ten years of experience as a zealous litigator in removal proceedings, De Jesús-Mir, understands the complexities within your immigration journey. 

She focuses on asylum, Cuban adjustment, adjustment of status, family petitions, Special Juvenil Visas, waivers and crimmigration cases with victories at Immigration Courts in several states in the nation, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. She has led legal teams in both private firms and public agencies.

Prior to founding her firm, De Jesús Mir, was instrumental in the creation of the Legal Department of the Municipality of Aguas Buenas in Puerto Rico, her hometown, the one she directed for about 3 years, a role she was confirmed unanimously by the Municipality Assembly. Her position expanded her understanding of administrative law and government agencies which is crucial in removal proceedings. 

As a law student De Jesús Mir was an advocate for environmental justice, she completed  pro bono hours at Fideicomiso de la Tierra at Caño Martin Pena, first land trust to become a Public Corporation in Puerto Rico. 

Attorney De Jesús Mir  obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico in 2013 with honors, and in 2021 a Master degree in International Law from the University of Houston. She is admitted in Texas, Puerto Rico and the US District Court of Puerto Rico.
